New in: Cowboy studded shirt
Dec 1st
Remember the bloggers event last weekend with MeeMee.com and Trace PR? I told you I chose a garment from MeeMee A/W 12 collection. This was it! Another studded plaids shirts with those golden spikes, I say another because this green plaids is one of my favourites too. One of the season’s must-haves… Love it and thanks MeeMee.com for it!
Have a great weekend!
PS: I have been working so much at the Indy, reason why I have been absent from Wednesday (sharing the British Fashion Awards ceremony), I really miss it in here! Will catch up soon!
A session of Bootcamp Pilates
Nov 21st
Alright, I am back on track.
In the past month I have been so busy and working a lot at my job at The Indy, as well as trying not to lose track of FashionInsideOut – reason why you probably haven’t seen much looks lately. In short, my lifestyle has been crazy and my eating too.
Now, I feel like it is time to do something about it, healthier food (not diet, I can’t do diets), and exercise. I kickstarted with Bootcamp Pilates, which I tried yesterday for the first time with the absolutely lovely trainer Maria Alejandra Cruz, who made me work hard (at my right beginners level) but feel gooooood afterwards! While I was exercising with the ‘ring’ and weights on these ‘Reformer machines’, also known as the ‘torture machines’ because of the intense workout, I could only wish that the last 10 seconds of each position just to run faster. I did feel ALL my muscles stretchening and strengthening from the start of the session so I think it could be a great workout to tone up, and instead of the sometimes boring pilates on a mat, this one is way more dynamic, plus if you are in London, here’s Maria in Fulham, she’ll make your session even better.
I have included an activity to my sports routine, but on my plan to get back on track I am desperately seeking a detox plan, but not convinced with eating ONLY green apple for 4 days, if you have any detox (healthy) advice, please shoot!
Have a great day…
Thrills: 100% Original sunnies (Special OFFER)
Nov 20th
Let me introduce you to THRILLS! After launching almost two years ago from Byron Bay, Australia with only a small collection of t-shirts it now has a full range of clothing, contributions with Wrangler and it is launching today its first eyewear collection. With only three different designs, named as simple as No1, No2 and No3, Thrills aimed for top quality rather than quantity as they are 100% original unisex designs, handmade of 6mm acetate frames. Each style comes in 2 different colours: black and tortoise.
It’s co-founder Fran Tavoni told me: ‘After almost two years we decided it was time to release the sunglasses, so we came with three styles, 100% originals and designed by us here in Byron Bay. We focused on the thickness of the frames and the palm logo detail as well as the case.’
Probably Australia is pictured as the location of sun, surfers, waves and ‘cool people’, but although the season at the other side of the globe might be colder, these frames can keep you cool. So not necessarily a summer piece, but an all-year round unique piece… I just love those garments that make you different! Also check out that VIDEO directed by Riley Blakeway, WOW! Amazing…
Now, guess what? You, as a reader of FashionInsideOut can have an exclusive 25% off! Just add the discount code FIO when checking out online HERE. I already got the No.2 tortoise ones, waiting for them to be delivered! And you? Be different…

Back to Jurassic Park couture
Nov 19th
While living the current season I was looking back at the fashion shows from September, where we previewed the then upcoming Autumn/Winter 2012 collections. I still get hypnotised by Sophie Hulme’s London Fashion Week’s debut with such a wearable yet unique collection of high quality pieces of chic, boyish, tough feminism, cool and young designs, and that very special touch of dinosaur toys in charms, belts, lace and embroided jumpers. See the full post on the show here and my video of her, where she says the collection was inlfuenced by her love for menswear and why dinosaurs. Now, you can buy AW12 here, here and here.
New arrival: Sam Edelman boots
Nov 17th
I finally realised it was time to get a new pair of black boots, flat and comfortable ones made to walk and resist the cold. Most of an everyday pair. I didn’t spend much time searching but this black leather pair of Sam Edelman knee boots were my pick. It took me a while to finally get them on my hands, due to delivery issues, but they have now arrived!!! Love the leather stripes around the ankle and do really like something I am really picky with, the sole. Now some Puss in Boots looks…
Top 10: Statement necklaces under £50
Nov 16th
Probably you have heard this thousand times, but accessories do make an entire outfit and they definitely make a difference in your looks while revealing your personality. If you try to think of people close to you, you know their style for the jewellery they usually wear, some are more risky, others more classic. For a long time I have been obsessed with statement necklaces, and although it stopped for a while I am back into them. You could achieve a lovely outfit by just adding this accessory to a casual top or jumper.
Now, when I was collecting these pieces I thought of making a top 10 list of fashion garments for you awesome followers every week. What do you think? If I would start from today, this would be the 10 top necklaces under £50. I know there are really beautiful necklaces out there, but sometimes we look for more affordable statement pieces, and the good news is that high street brands now make gorgeous designs too. You might notice that I quite spent a time in H&M with the current collection… Click on the list at the bottom to find each necklace online. Happy Friday!!!

Instagram diary: Mid November
Nov 15th
We are at mid November and so far, so good. Besides all the hard work, there’s always fun, learning and life experiences, which I have shared on Instragram (@fashioninsideout) and have decided to collect them here.
In an atmosphere of a change of weather, leafless trees and beautiful autumn, there is also a cold winter breeze that brings back all the knitwear, leather, coats and warm wardrobe.
More things changed too, a new haircut (shorter and straight) and a new smile since I got my braces off, receiving the respective bottle of champagne from the orthodontist to celebrate for ‘doing well’.
Bonfire night at Battersea Park was amazing as the dark sky saw hundreds of fireworks, Christmas lights on London’s Regent Street remind me of the wonderful holiday season, and although the daylight lasts just few hours, London embraces you with lots of beautiful things!
Also, I had the wonderful experience of volunteering for the British Red Cross’ Gala Brasil ball, wear my Liz Black dress for the first time and add a headpiece provided to volunteers from a Brazilian designer. It felt great to be part of this at least for one night.
In the meantime, Spring/Summer 13 press days remind me of how cool and colourful summer is, introducing me for the first time to the art couture and feminine lace of Felice, as well as the coolest swimsuits I have seen in a while, Beach Riot. Press days kept coming and it feels like many PRs agreed to have theirs today, it’s a big press date too, so I will be heading off soon. Hope you have had a good November so far! December is getting quite close and the month of resolutions for the following year will knock at our heads very soon!
