10 best statement rings

By August 31, 2014 Designers, NEW IN

rings-psfHello peeps!

My most recent “10 Best” piece for the i newspaper was about statement rings that are affordable, diverse and cover the taste and budget of the publication’s wide audience. From Gemporia to Tatty Devine, and from Lola Rose to Militza Ortiz, here’s my selection to put a bling on it with style this season. Including timeless pieces and other cartoonised ones. It came out on Friday’s issue, so in case you’ve missed it, click HERE to read it all online and get directed to the links for each ring.

The French Connection monochrome dress

By August 21, 2014 OUTFITS 1

front2

Let’s take a break from the sunny Ibiza posts (there’s still a few on its way!). This time I come with a cool black and white dress that reminds me of Chanel’s spring/summer 2014 fashion show inspired in art. Less colourful, more affordable -obvs- but it still looks like someone has taken a paint brush and began use it on a white dress.

This monochrome dress from French Connection is so versatile that I thought I could wear it to anything and with anything! A big plus, is that it’s comfortable and fits nicely, well that’s usually the case with FCUK dresses -at least for me. For this look I went for a casual day at the office and as it’s getting a bit chilly here in London, I had to compensate the bared legs with a cosy jumper, and I couldn’t think of a better option than this oversized knitted cardigan in pink! Yes, pink. And well, my red crush of the moment, the bright Disco Gucci bag.

I WAS WEARING–> Dress/vestido: FRENCH CONNECTION; Cardigan/sueter: APPLETREE BOUTIQUE; Boots/botas: TOPSHOP; Scarf/budanda: H&M (old); handbag: GUCCI; Watch/reloj: JORG GRAY; Bracelets/pulseras: FOLLIE FOLLIE, TOUS; rings/anillos: BIMBA Y LOLA, THE BRANCH

THE SUPER SMART SKIRT: FYODOR GOLAN FOR NOKIA LUMIA

By February 15, 2014 Designers, Events, LFW

nokia-fyodor-golan

Fyodor Golan’s fashion show yesterday opened with the introduction of the first interactive skirt made of 80 Nokia Lumia 1520 smartphones. The dynamic duo teamed up with Nokia to create design the skirt that uses static images captured by the phone to adorn it.

The pictures on the screen  change colour as the skirt moves, creating a shimmering effect through an app that ensures the shimmer happens in line with the model’s movement. This is again another collaboration that proves that fashion and technology are intrinsically related.

NIGHT OUT PERFUME: ESTEE LAUDER’S SENSOUS

By January 15, 2014 Beauty

sensous-fragrance

Every one has a crush on the perfume that reacts better on their skin, just like I do on Estee Lauder’s Sensous perfume since I first tried it. It is a perfect body scent to wear for night outs and its name says it all, it truly is sensual. Hold on, not THAT sensual, as the beauty house describes it, it’s ” modern new definition of sensuality”.

It’s has a rich core of Molten Woods, amber, flowers and a touch of honey. I know smells are abstract, but you would totally understand if I describe this woody perfume as an elegant fragrance. I do have few other daywear favourites, but this is my number one so far when the moon rises. I must admit I never imagined finding my scent in Estee Lauder’s range, but I have. And every time I have it on, people ask. It’s uncommon and I do happen to smell different than those wearing Chance by Chanel, don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love it but it’s so good that lots of the lovely ladies around me do splash it on. So if you fancy trying my favourite amber-scented splash of the moment, make sure it is the plain Sensous (see the simple rounded bottle above) and not the Sensous Nude or Sensous Noir, they’re so much stronger – like granny’s powder kind of smell.

Find the bottle HERE. I do recommend the gift set, which includes a 50ml bottle, a 4ml pocket size version and a 100ml body lotion for a great price, find it HERE.
