Gran Canaria: A detox destination

By February 4, 2015 Travels

Gran-Canaria-spas

Few months ago I went to Gran Canaria, but not to only enjoy the 25 degrees it as has all year round, the beach and the shopping, but its wellness. I found out that the Spanish island has a wide variety of spas and treatments, for all budgets and ages.

So I thought of whizzing over the best bits of this experience, as a perfect destination to escape this freezing cold winter and pamper yourself with a detox kind of destination, under the sunny weather, in Europe.

I’ve already shared some tips about Gran Canaria and told you all about the hotel where I stayed with all its facilities and amazing food HERE, but here’s all about the spas, treatments and their awesome ocean views – I even got wrapped in algae! Come join me and take a trip to the sea…

I mean, this Thalassotherapy pool…

The good thing is that we were up for it (as if we would even think it twice…)

However, all the hotel facilities were espectacular

I tried the Algae Wrap and it got pretty hot, it stink, but my skin felt so gooood and sooooft afterwards! (worth it)

But between trying one spa and another, a submarine break with Gran Canaria Blue is pretty tempting…

Cordial Canaria was a different kind of spa. Small, but cozy and very green. A family friendly hotel with a luxurious escape for grown ups.

And then the detoxing trip closed with my favourite spa, Lopesan Villa Del Conde

It has an amazing ocean view… Wait, let me say that again: A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!

Then you are welcome to enjoy the spa’s facilities, which are just great. Plenty of modern spaces and seawater pools, outdoors facilities with pools and sun terrace too.

Gran Canaria was just so very lovely. With wellness becoming one of things the island’s is getting more known for, trying these spots was a tick on my bucketlist. Still, wanting to come back (specially in this weather).

Pitcure of the day: Shine your Sunday

By March 4, 2012 NEW IN

It has been raining literally all day, so it makes the Sunday even more lazy than usual (although I work on Sundays). So, I woke up thinking I want to be somewhere warm and sunny right now…  trying to be realistic, somewhere close, because to be honest, for me, there’s no better place than Los Roques in Venezuela, P-A-R-A-D-I-SE. However, I thought of this amazing spot I went to last year in Canary Islands. After getting a bus from the centre of Las Palmas, Gran Canaria and a long walk, I ended up in this wonderful turquoise beach in this place called Puerto Rico. Loved it! … Just to shine our Sunday a bit on this side of the world.
