One of those glorious sunny days I went around the Tower of London – a London’s landmark – and shoot this outfit. We can count those days with our fingers, so the photos deserved a nice background and this one was some time ago, just before an event, for which I decided to wear this BCBG pencil skirt combined with this super cool Love Moschino t-shirt and the awesome big shoulders jacket, which I call the Lady Gaga jacket! (I just sing “Ga ga, oh lala, roma, roma…” while I move those sexy shoulders). I just can’t wait this weather to come back at some point. Btw, I just passed my practical driving test, watch out London’s roads, here I come! Hope your week is going great!

A couple of weeks ago I had the privilege of visiting Liz Black‘s studio in London, and I must admit I left pretty much impressed. I knew little about this Venezuelan-born designer, but I did know that Lady Gaga wore one of her coolest designs. From that visit, I not only bring you her fabulous Superheroine AW12, but also the the strong woman behind those designs. As she graduated, she created her own label to let the freedom of her creativity sparkle. Black graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2010 and her graduation collection couldn’t get a better feedback than being Lady Gaga’s choice, who not only wore one of her black & white smoking-like dresses, but also asked for more as she got three pieces to wear in a music video.
Now Black has been called a ‘Vogue talent’ by Vogue Italia and was a semi-finalist for the fashion Fringe awards 2011. As I show you the amazing afternoon I spent with the designer at her studio trying perfect pieces and looking at her collections, I interviewed her, so let’s Liz give us a flavour of the elegant, minimal and aesthetic label that has taken her to an upper level in the fashion industry.
This is one of my favourite designs from Liz Black’s AW12 collection, Superheroine. The combination of textures and colours makes the skirt and jacket a perfect match. Sharp cuts and two single-stripes that flow as a rainbow across the skirt, from one end to another. Absolutely felt in love with this modern tailoring inspired in heroines. I spotted it when visiting Liz Black studio, and I got so much more pictures from her previous and latest collection, plus the profile of a talented designer that has been Lady Gaga’s choice.
Ga ga oh la la…
After covering Vanity Fair’s September 2010 issue with pale gray colours and semi naked, Lady Gaga welcomes the new year wrapped in striking red as she covers the January 2012 issue.
In an exclusive interview she says she could buy “a f*ckin’ ring” herself, and that she also wants a man graduated from Harvard. Yes Gaga, we all know that behind all that make up and exceptional outfits there’s a clever 25-year-old ‘lady’.
The issue includes shots by Annie Leibovitz and naked drawings of the singer by the new Picasso, Tony Bennett. For more, preview the interview here.
In addition, she also covers Elle UK January 2012 issue in bright colours and short hair. It looks like top publications are going gaga with this flamboyant pop star.
