They first appeared at New York Fashion Week last year on the catwalks of Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang, then London confirmed the comeback of shorts in spring 2014. Jonathan Saunders did silky and sporty while Emilia Wickstead offered high waisted and tailored. Designers came back with the bermuda shorts though, but sometimes I rather go for what might fit better and look better than just following the so called ‘trend’; in my opinion this slightly shorter version from Avenue 32 are my kind of choice – they would look sexy on both short and long legs!
So… I thought of putting together a new wishlist in two outfit ideas with shorts that spell the start of spring. On the left you’ve got the pink silk option, which embraces the “it” palette of the season (pastels), paired with a floral print top for the blossoming season. I love how the hot red accessories go with it. On the right, I got the all black & white outfit that will suit EVERY occasion, from casual to evening wear. The tailored patterned shorts and blazer, both from the charming French house Carven, will keep any outing beyond elegant and cool. Why not keep the total monochrome look with these cut out shoes?
