The French Connection monochrome dress

By August 21, 2014 OUTFITS 1

Let’s take a break from the sunny Ibiza posts (there’s still a few on its way!). This time I come with a cool black and white dress that reminds me of Chanel’s spring/summer 2014 fashion show inspired in art. Less colourful, more affordable -obvs- but it still looks like someone has taken a paint brush and began use it on a white dress.

This monochrome dress from French Connection is so versatile that I thought I could wear it to anything and with anything! A big plus, is that it’s comfortable and fits nicely, well that’s usually the case with FCUK dresses -at least for me. For this look I went for a casual day at the office and as it’s getting a bit chilly here in London, I had to compensate the bared legs with a cosy jumper, and I couldn’t think of a better option than this oversized knitted cardigan in pink! Yes, pink. And well, my red crush of the moment, the bright Disco Gucci bag.

I WAS WEARING–> Dress/vestido: FRENCH CONNECTION; Cardigan/sueter: APPLETREE BOUTIQUE; Boots/botas: TOPSHOP; Scarf/budanda: H&M (old); handbag: GUCCI; Watch/reloj: JORG GRAY; Bracelets/pulseras: FOLLIE FOLLIE, TOUS; rings/anillos: BIMBA Y LOLA, THE BRANCH

Royal blue is a colour that personally, never gets old. A classic one. This summer number is from last year, but as I hit the high-street I keep seeing it next to the beautiful pastels of the season, and to prove how pretty it looks with pastels, I wore it with a baby blue blazer… Other than that I’ve got this new fabulous tote that has slowly become my best friends over summer! I literally feel like Mary Poppins with it, I can carry everything, even my big camera, everywhere with style, a gorgeous piece from Follie Follie’s spring collection (now on sale, woop!)

Btw, how cool are these graffitis from one of my favourite weekend spots in London? Yep, if you’re around, this is Acklam Village Market in Notting Hill.

I WAS WEARING–> Handbag/Bolso: FOLLIE FOLLIE ; Dress/Vestido: H&M ; Blazer: ZARA ; Watch: JORG GRAY ; Ring/Anillo: BIMBA Y LOLA (on sale now) ; Sandals/Sandalias: STUART WEITZMAN follie-follie Read More

SALVATORE SANTORO: It’s not python, it’s laser cut

By May 1, 2014 OUTFITS 1

laser-cut-coatBack to the outfits, I’d like to focus on this gorgeous reversible leather trench. Not any leather jacket, but a laser cut one in the shape of python texture. Clever and pretty unique design from another emerging Italian designer, who lands in London through the private showroom The Wardrobe Room. How cool it looks with such a casual boyfriend outfit like this?

I WAS WEARING–> Trench: SALVATORE SANTORO (via The Wardrobe Room); boyfriend jeans & t-shirt: H&M; Shoes: LOUBOUTIN  Read More

Left – Florals & Pastels: Top | Pink silk shorts

Centre – accessories: Lips clutch |Pointy flats | Monochrome shoes

Right – Monochrome & Patterns: Blazer | ZigZag shorts

They first appeared at New York Fashion Week last year on the catwalks of Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang, then London confirmed the comeback of shorts in spring 2014. Jonathan Saunders did silky and sporty while Emilia Wickstead offered high waisted and tailored. Designers came back with the bermuda shorts though, but sometimes I rather go for what might fit better and look better than just following the so called ‘trend’; in my opinion this slightly shorter version from Avenue 32 are my kind of choice – they would look sexy on both short and long legs!

So… I thought of putting together a new wishlist in two outfit ideas with shorts that spell the start of spring. On the left you’ve got the pink silk option, which embraces the “it” palette of the season (pastels), paired with a floral print top for the blossoming season.  I love how the hot red accessories go with it. On the right, I got the all black & white outfit that will suit EVERY occasion, from casual to evening wear. The tailored patterned shorts and blazer, both from the charming French house Carven, will keep any outing beyond elegant and cool. Why not keep the total monochrome look with these cut out shoes?

Get on these glamorous tailored shorts and kick-off summer with style!
