The rain didn’t stop Londoners from going out and invading the river bank to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by cheering over a thousand manpowered boats on the River Thames yesterday. I don’t know how I ended up going, seriously this weather has gone crazy, it sounds like a crazy decision… but well, with the cold and rain we lived not only the pageant but the atmosphere while listening to the horns. I thought of sharing with you some photos I took of the people I spotted on the streets full of pride covered with the Union Jack colours. Also, my shots of the Queen’s boat and the ones that followed it, including a funky boat with coloured stars on it. Happy Monday everyone and those is the UK… happy bank holiday!
It’s Sunday already… and the great long weekend is going so well! The Queen’s masks made my day yesterday, and as the holiday goes on I keep celebrating alongside the crowd and joining the mood. Today over a thousand boats will be sailing on the River Thames during the Diamond Jubilee Pageant and I will be there! Yes, it will be packed but hopefully I’ll get the chance to see the countless type of boats in one of the largest flotillas on the River in the afternoon. So, so far I am ready for it and the UK holidays that will keep rolling until Tuesday, although I must say that I’ll be working, but I’ll have some fun free times in between. Oh and btw, my mom and photographer of outfits has been away and is finally coming back today, how exciting!
What are your plans in and outside the UK? Are you getting in the Jubilee mood?
